1. What themes or
concerns in the presented reading are your responding to?
Some themes/concerns conveyed in this video that I chose were themes of sadness and overall darkness as well as some happier things. The video calls people to action for animal abuse and it also shows how you can help save them by contributing. Depicting both abused animals and ones that are saved.
2. What are the materials and processes you used to formulate your response? Why these? If several, which are you most concerned with?
I chose to just write a response to the video because I wanted to explain exactly how I felt about it as I watched it. I have watched several videos like that one it It gets me every time. The video always concerns me because there is always work that needs to be done to help the animals and save them from despair. I'm mostly concerned with the animals.
3. Why these materials and processes. What are their limitations? What do they allow?
These materials and processes make it easier for me to display my emotions toward the commercial. The limitations of a written post is that maybe you can't see my reactions or the feeling that comes from my body language/expressions. The writing allows for me to show different aspects of my feelings without one having to see me physically.
4. What choices did you make? (For example, the tone of a piece of writing, or the lighting decisions for a
photograph.) What led your decision making about them?
I decided to make the writing sort of sad in the beginning making it seem like there is a lot of internal struggle with myself about helping the animals, but it changes to a solid resolve to help the animals because Sarah McLaclan gives the viewer a way to do that. Towards the end the writing is triumphant because of the change in mindset from the depressing beginning to the strong decision to help at the end.
5. What did you learn through this response? (You can address new knowledge or
new questions you’ve
gained regarding the class reading, the materials/processes you used, or both.)
Through this response I learned that writing such a short piece about something you feel very passionate about can be very amazing and have tons of substance to it.
