1. What themes or concerns in the presented reading are your responding to?
I am specifically responding to my use of the Hindi language and German language throughout my life and the sad fact that I really cannot use these languages as well as I can English. This impedes my communication with my Indian Grandma and my German Uncle.... still they can loosely communicate with me .... but could it be better..... YES! So, this is the problem that I am discussing in my poem/manifesto. I am not quite using the exact forms used in the reading but I am incorporating things myself and letting it flow however it does. The idea of using language in the prompt turned into something else for me.... and that is what I wrote.
I personally used the blog and my KNOWLEDGE of language in this. I am most concerned with my language skills because this is what I incorporated. They have some limitations but this is what the purpose is of my post, it incorporates my limitations of the language.
4. What choices did you make? (For example, the tone of a piece of writing, or the lighting decisions for a photograph.) What led your decision-making about them?
I used a lot of lack of knowledge of language and incorporated it to show that I do not have the communication skills that I have in english with other languages. This can be shown very clearly with the way I separate my English from my other languages in the poem and show that I truly have a lack of understanding in them that can be seen from my poor communication and forced incorporation of English.
5. What did you learn through this response? (You can address new knowledge or new questions you’ve gained regarding the class reading, the materials/processes you used, or both.)
I learned about manifestos which I had honestly never heard of before. These are very interesting to me and I think they are a great way of expression. The similarities that are possible between manifestos and poetry are cool because a manifesto can be any kind of expression of public policy/ideas/.....ECT. and the broad description of them gives a broad group of possibilities of how to STRUCTURE them.... the way I structured mine is in the form of a poem with a prose feel to it.
