James Cavallaro Week 5 Analysis

·       What themes or concerns in the presented reading are your responding to?

o   For this weeks assignment I used the theme of using a collage of pictures from this past year when I had went to Washington DC. They are in no particular order but rather randomly placed into moviemaker. They are though a collage of some, not all of the picture that I took while in Washington DC this past summer.

o   What are the materials and processes you used to formulate your response? Why these? If several, which are you most concerned with?

o   The materials and processes I used to formulate my response was mostly moviemaker to put all the images and music together. First I had to send the pictures from my iPhone to my email, which I than downloaded them to my laptop and uploaded them into moviemaker. My main concern was that the pictures were going to make the file size to large and that I was not going to be able to upload my video… and it did just that. The music behind the video is Black by Pearl Jam, one of my favorites. Did necessarily choose this song for any reason other then I like it.

·       Why these materials and processes. What are their limitations? What do they allow?

·       The main limitation was that I was only able to access the photos that I took which wasn’t that many. My phone was dead for most of the trip therefore I couldn’t take as many as I would have liked. My sister was the one to take more photos when we were in DC but the photos where on her digital camera that she couldn’t get to me in time to make this.        

·       What choices did you make? (For example, the tone of a piece of writing, or the lighting decisions for a photograph.) What led your decision-making about them?

·       What made me pick the picture that I did for this collage was pretty simple. I took the picture that stood out most to me, mostly the places that we spent the most time when we were site seeing. My decision making about them was generally base on which picture I felt came out the best and captured both the scene and atmosphere.

·       What did you learn through this response? (You can address new knowledge or new questions you’ve gained regarding the class reading, the materials/processes you used, or both.)

o   Its been a long time since I last used movie maker so when I opened it for the first time I had to refresh myself on the short cuts and way to move around the program. I think that now I’ve been exposed to the program a little now, it will make putting together my final project easier.
